Despite that it’s raining cats and dogs in Xavier Ecoville, faculty facilitators and student volunteers from Xavier University’s Department of Psychology and Guidance were able to conduct their psychosocial intervention on the youth of Xavier Ecoville held at the child-friendly space last May 12.
The said activity focused on the coping mechanisms of the youth. “We tried to look kung ano yung mga concerns nila as of the moment, and then we help them see or clarify na meron pala silang mga existing na mga support na puwede nilang magamit as part of their coping mechanism,” said Jason Manaois, one of the facilitators during the activity.
Manaois also said that the activity helped them “able to realize that even though they are youth, may magagawa pala sila to resolve their problems.”
This psychosocial intervention on the youth is part of their volunteer efforts in Xavier Ecoville. The facilitators also did a psychosocial intervention on the camp management and some of the older dwellers in Xavier Ecoville.
